Juno-G Replacement LCD

Can't rave enough about this replacement. I grew up on this Juno-G, even blind memorized menu layouts because the old faulty screen. I rlly maxed out this synth back in the day. PC card converter full of samples, tons of patches, kits, and sequences. It's amazing to have it all back. The instructions were pretty clear/easy to follow. I would recommend taking pics yourself before fully dislodging the boards. When I first got this Juno back in the day I had Roland replace the screen, only for it to glitch out shortly after. That first replacement job meant alot of the screws where not in the same slots as the instruction manual. Not a big deal, but taking some pics made it easier. This fix has basically made my year. Immediately after firing it up I was back to creating crazy custom patches and layering up little songs. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

the new lcd, it works perfect

The installation instructions are very thorough and with patience was easy enough. I put black tape under the clear window on both sides to mask the ends of the lcd and it looks factory! Btw, my lcd display was still working but the bright orange color was giving me headaches and I decided to replace now rather than when it fails. The new lcd color now fits in the modern Juno keyboards theme (Gi, D, DS) rather than the one off orange. With this replacement I am enjoying my Juno G again!

The display arrived in less then 2 weeks to Hungary, well-packaged in a box, stuffed and wrapped. The online tutorial was quite useful - I was a bit confused in 9. I didn't have "Roland Juno-G LCD BOARD ASSY" and I had direct wiring to the display module - anyway, the replacement is still compatible :) It took about 1.5-2 hour to change the old faulty display module (w. a lot of distruptions :)). Anyway, everything worked, it's a great solution if you want to revive faulty G's :) Keep up the good work, cheers!

It's 2024 and I still use my Juno-G live, together with a Nord Stage, as I have a lot of Performances and Live Settings ready for my gigs and the keyboard is still a very powerful workstation, I didn't need to upgrade to a Fantom, but the screen (second one, the first one was replaced by Roland already, thankfully I was still on System 2.0) was failing again although with a different problem (LEDs were failing one by one and only a small part of the screen was illuminated, plus the well known problems with low contrast). I want to confirm that the screen works well, the instructions are clear, take pictures yourself during the process and my advice is to label and store the screws separately for each step/board/part. The process is not so difficult, but not so easy as well, if you're not used to working at least a little bit with electronics (the process is similar to disassembling/reassembling a computer, if you ever assembled a computer by yourself you should be fine), find someone that can do the work for you. I was so happy when I turned the Juno on and found out it was working flawlessly! :) As others pointed out, there are some disadvantages compared to the original screen: it's smaller and the image is stretched, and the buttons below the display do not align anymore with the functions. However, you finally get a display with good contrast and illumination and it's not orange. And, most important, a screen that works! Shipping was fast and the price is honest.

The screen on my synth has been broken for ages and I searched around for a replacement and found some ridiculously expensive original parts. Then I came across this site and was so pleased I ordered it straight away. The unit arrived promptly and well packaged. I followed the excellent instructions online, provided on this site, and quickly replaced the screen. I was very excited when I switched on the keyboard and could see everything for the first time in nearly two years! Thank you for a brilliant product, at a reasonable price and clear instructions.

This replacement screen for the Juno G is terrific!! I can't say enough good things. It arrived quickly. From the time I ordered it, to the time it arrived (from the United Kingdom to South Seattle) took about 5 days. That's really fast! The screen is well-engineered. I'm just blown-away that these are custom-made. The engineer should be proud of their work. The install took about 30 minutes. The instructions were clear and well-organized. My client is a working musician who was stressed and dismayed that her original LCD had stopped working suddenly. Needless to say, she was extremely happy and grateful to have her instrument back on stage in less than a week. THANK YOU!!

Nice clear display, good build quality and a clear guide for the installation.

First, the packaging looked a little dubious but everything was VERY solid and came to me in perfect condition. Secondly, I found the instructions to be easy to read and follow. Unfortunately, someone who didn't know what they were doing had been inside already and had mixed up and lost some screws. Even with that, I found it pretty easy to get in, install the screen, and put it all back together. After firing it up, the screen works perfectly.

Super easy solution: Mike was very easy to deal with - extremely thorough and quick in his response and follow up! Package was done professionally. Installation instructions were clear and easy to follow. First power up went well. Back to enjoying my Juno G again. A must DO for anyone having Juno G LCD issues.

My Juno G is back! It's been in a closet since I had to turn my "studio" into an office during the pandemic but I got it out and the display was even worse than before the pandemic. I just happened to come across all the advancements that had been made on this issue on Facebook Juno-G group and then saw this pre-built kit. The order came within a week and I put it in today. Instructions are excellent and it works perfectly! Thank you!

Up and running again. Been looking for so long for a replacement screen. This is a great product. This screen is very clear and easy to read unlike the original orange screen.The installation was pretty straight forward. Instructions were spot on. Thanks for a great product.

Very Easy to fit and a very clear display.

Display installation was easy to do, until two ribbon cables decided to let go on the plastic stiffeners. So be careful with those cables when dismantle Juno-G. Fixing the ribbon cables need few extra steps in the installation. You will need Tape, superglue, magnifying class, sharp knife, electrical cleaner or alcohol, clamp, paper towel. - Check from Juno side what way the ribbon cable is attached. - Attach tape over the contacts from the ribbon cable where the pins are in the Juno-G. - Check trough magnifying class that ribbon cable heads are not touching each other. - Add superglue on the other side of the ribbon cable contacts and little bit over and attach plastic peace (if the plastic was lost during the dismantle, you can get same type of plastic in example from boxes where kids toys are delivered or like in my case, I had bought fuses to my car and use that box to cut my self replacement plastic). - Hold and press the plastic for a while against ribbon cable. Add paper towel around the ribbon cable so you won clue it against the clamp. I used two peaces of wood and a clamp. - After a while, remove clamp and remove excess material around the ribbon cable with sharp knife carefully. - Remove tape and use cleaner to remove glue marks from the ribbon cable contact side. - Start to whistle MacGyver theme because it suits the situation. Cable should be usable again.

After many years of this keyboard sitting in a closet due to the blank orange screen problem, it is finally back in action! The installation was pretty straightforward, took me an hour to do it, slow and steady taking my time. The screen looks great. As mentioned on the site, it is smaller than the OEM but works great and looks just fine as is. So happy to have this keyboard working again! For anyone that gets a DIMM error, like me, I just removed the RAM stick and put it back in and that solved the issue. Very happy with the screen, and at a very good price. High quality screen works better than the factory original problematic screen. Easy to follow instructions with minimal tech skills required. They also shipped faster than expected at a great price.

I have been searching for so long to find a replacement LCD screen, at long last Mike has come along with some superb LCD's and we are back in operation. Brilliant work Mike, I think you will have a great business on your hands. Well done and thank you.

I have attached before and after photo I don t know if my photos have done it justice but I have replaced my non working screen in around a hr to 1 1/2 hr. This is the only solution I can find and the service I had was spot on to be honest I was a little wary of carrying this out but in the end I couldn t make it any worse I thought. If you re out there wondering whether to try this my advice is give it a go the screen is smaller but full instructions where emailed also.. Thanks Mike for all your help I would of done it sooner but I have been away

I bought my Juno G as an used synth and the screen was broken. I searched online and found junoglcd store. After reading the information provided on their website I was convinced that I have landed on the right place. Placed my order and received the LCD screen within two weeks. (I live in the USA) I printed the detailed installation instructions from their website and followed every step and I was able to finish the installation instructions 2 hours. The replacement process was straightforward but, the obstacle I ran into was that after unscrewing the boards I disconnected the connection and I forgot where to correct reconnect spot was for some of the connections. So I had to try few options before I was able to get power in the synth. My advice is before you disconnect take a picture. Once I put the synth back I was able to enjoy a very good LCD screen and for the first time see the name of the aounds on my keyboard. Im very happy with my purchase and the installation process. The product and customer service has been excellent. I highly recommend this product and company. Thank you very mch JunoGLCD team. PS. Another bonus was that since my synth was used it was really dirty and dusty inside. By replacing the screen it gave me the opportunity to clean the inside of the synth. I was so glad to stumble upon a link to Mike and his business for this lcd replacement. Been looking a long time and finally a working display!! Juno G has great sounds and simple use I didn t want to get rid of it. Great install directions and very happy with the screen.

Works as advertised. Roland stopped making LCD replacements years ago and my juno-g has since been in the closet. Thanks to this spare i got it working again. Screen itself is much clearer than the old LCD ever was. Replacement was easy. Thanks!

Produgt was right and came fast

My Juno-G had been disabled for more than a year, and it had been sitting on the workbench for several months when I found the Juno G LCD ad on Facebook. I ordered the display on a Saturday; it was shipped from the U.K. early the next week and arrived in the U.S. promptly about a week later. The instructions were clear, and in less than two hours, I had my synthesizer reassembled and working again.

Thank you very much for your time spent on preparing this replacement display. You're my super hero - I've been waiting for this solution for about 8 years! I think this display is not as clear and bright as the original one at the beginning, and the display contrast knob doesn't work with this LCD unfortunately, but still I'm super happy to be able to use my JUNO-G again. I have very good memories associated with this instrument and also I've played some good gigs with it. :) Replacing the part was super-easy with your instructions, only difference for me was with "do not remove" screws on the bottom case - I think they are wrongly marked on your picture (the top row should not be removed instead). But this hasn't caused any issues, just little more work to be done. :)
